The short version
BorelliScopie is a free educational resource. You can use it to learn about dermoscopy. You cannot use it to make clinical decisions about real patients. We have done our best to make the content accurate, but we cannot guarantee it is error-free, and we are not liable if something goes wrong.
That is the essence. The rest of this page provides the detail.
What BorelliScopie is
BorelliScopie is an educational resource designed to teach foundational dermoscopy concepts to healthcare professionals. It provides structured learning materials including text, images, interactive elements, and an educational simulator.
The platform is intended to support professional development. It is not a substitute for formal training, clinical supervision, or professional judgement.
What BorelliScopie is not
Not a medical device
BorelliScopie is educational content only. It does not:
- Analyse images or clinical data
- Provide diagnoses or diagnostic suggestions
- Offer clinical decision support
- Generate patient-specific recommendations
Under UK regulations (MHRA guidance on software as a medical device) and equivalent international frameworks, BorelliScopie does not meet the definition of a medical device because it does not process individual patient data or provide outputs intended to inform specific clinical decisions.
Not a diagnostic tool
The TADA educational simulator demonstrates algorithm logic through worked examples. It does not assess real lesions, process patient images, or provide clinical recommendations. Outputs from the simulator are educational illustrations, not clinical guidance.
Not clinical advice
Nothing on this platform should be interpreted as clinical advice for specific patients or situations. All clinical decisions must be made by qualified healthcare professionals using their own judgement, in accordance with local guidelines and referral pathways.
Your responsibilities
By using BorelliScopie, you agree that:
- You understand this is an educational resource, not a clinical tool
- You will not use BorelliScopie content to make decisions about real patients
- You will apply your own professional judgement in clinical practice
- You will follow your local clinical guidelines and referral pathways
- You will not upload, submit, or input any patient data or identifiable information
If you are not a healthcare professional, you may still use BorelliScopie for educational purposes, but you should be aware that the content is designed for clinicians and assumes a baseline level of medical knowledge.
User accounts
BorelliScopie offers optional user accounts to enable progress tracking, quiz history, and a personal dashboard. Creating an account is entirely voluntary — all educational content is freely accessible without signing in.
If you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information and to keep your credentials secure. You may delete your account at any time, which will remove your progress data.
Account creation does not change the educational nature of the platform. Tracked progress is a study aid, not an assessment or certification record.
Accuracy and limitations
We try to be accurate
All clinical content is:
- Developed by individuals with relevant expertise
- Reviewed by named clinical editors
- Aligned with recognised dermoscopy standards
- Updated periodically to reflect current evidence
But we cannot guarantee perfection
Despite our best efforts:
- Errors may exist in the content
- Information may become outdated between review cycles
- Content may not reflect the latest evidence or guidelines
- Educational simplifications may not capture every clinical nuance
You should always verify important information against authoritative sources and current guidelines in your jurisdiction.
Educational simplification
Some content is simplified for educational purposes. Where wording has been adapted from clinical guidelines, we indicate this. Simplification is intended to aid learning, not to provide comprehensive clinical guidance.

Disputes
We hope disputes will not arise. If they do, we encourage informal resolution first — contact us and we will try to address concerns directly.
If formal resolution is required, the applicable law and jurisdiction will depend on your location and the nature of the dispute. Nothing in these terms restricts any rights you have under consumer protection or other laws that cannot be waived by agreement.
